Please join us on Saturday, October 24th, 2008 for the book launch of Osler's Bedside Library: Great Writers Who Inspired a Great Physician (OBL) edited by Michael A. Lacombe and David J. Elpern. The event will be held at McGill University, most likely at the Osler Library. The venue may change to a larger room depending on the number of people who express interest.
OBL is a companion and guide for contemporary readers. It features selections from Osler’s Canon, plus 20 more works which Osler frequently referred to. Each chapter contains selections from the classics plus commentary by a leading scholar in the medical humanities. Special reference is made to why the work is relevant to a physician’s education and practice. We have chosen McGill as the site for the launch since this is where Osler first made his name as a great physician and medical humanist.
